A man in his 30s has been killed in a rocket attack on northern Israel Tuesday afternoon.

The rocket struck the yard of a house in Kibbutz HaGoshrim in the Galilee, about five kilometers east of Kiryat Shmona. The victim was struck by shrapnel.

Reshef Nuriel, a United Hatzalah volunteer EMT who arrived at the scene, said: "I performed CPR together with an intensive care ambulance team on a man about 30 years old who, according to bystanders, was hit by rocket shrapnel. Unfortunately, after prolonged resuscitation efforts, he was pronounced dead."

The attack comes three days after twelve Druze children were killed in a Hezbollah rocket attack that struck a soccer field in the Majdal Shams area in the Golan Heights.

The IDF stated, "Following the sirens that sounded in the area of the Upper Galilee, approximately 10 projectiles crossed from Lebanon into Israeli territory, the majority were intercepted. A hit was identified in the area of HaGoshrim in northern Israel. Reports were received regarding a civilian that was injured as a result of the attack. The IDF is currently striking the sources of fire."

"Additionally, earlier today, the IAF struck Hezbollah terror infrastructure in the area of Jibchit in southern Lebanon."

The Hezbollah terrorist organization later claimed responsibility for the rocket attack on Kibbutz HaGoshrim, saying it was targeting a nearby military base.
