Iranian media reported Saturday that a network of agents working for the Mossad has been arrested, Kan News reported.

According to the report, the agents were sent to Iran in order to "carry out acts of terror." Members of the network were in contact with the Mossad by means of a country which neighbors Iran, and entered the country through the Kurdistan region.

The report also said that the group planned to target sensitive areas, while using "the most advanced operational and communications equipment, as well as powerful explosives."

Iranian authorities said that the weapons, explosives, technical equipment, and communications equipment belonging to the network were confiscated.

In March, Tasnim claimed that Iranian authorities had arrested a "spy cell that worked for Israel." At the time, the report claimed that the network acted to "recruit rioters, with the aim of sending sabotage operations inside Iran."
