An Israeli bus carrying school children in the Negev burst into flames on Sunday, forcing the children to evacuate the vehicle.

The incident occurred at Lehavim Junction in southern Israel, near the Bedouin town of Rahat.

While returning ninth graders from their school in the town of Eshel Hanasi back to their home town of Lehavim Sunday afternoon, the engine began to overheat, sparking a fire.

“Something must have gone wrong with the bus’ engine on the way home from school to Lehavim,” one of the students told Mynet Beersheva. “Smoke started to pour out of the back end of the bus when we got to Lehavim Junction. They told us to get off the bus immediately, before the fire spread.”

Firefighters and rescue teams were dispatched to the scene of the fire. No injuries were reported in the incident.
