The Biden Administration is preparing to release a plan to combat antisemitism on college campuses amidst a wave of antisemitic incidents at American universities in the aftermath of Hamas' massacre of over 1,400 Israelis on October 7, CNN reported.

The plan will be implemented by the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice, and the Department of Education, in cooperation with campus law enforcement officials.

An anonymous White House official told CNN that the government departments have “disseminated public safety information to and hosted multiple calls with campus law enforcement, as well as state, local, tribal and territorial officials to address the threat environment and share information about available resources."

The plan also calls for Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, who is Jewish, and Education Secretary Miguel Cardona to meet with leading Jewish organizations.

NBC News reported that the Department of Education has already sent officials to conduct on-site visits to universities that have seen antisemitic incidents in San Francisco, St. Louis, and Maine, and is expected to conduct similar visits in New York and Baltimore this week.

The administration's measures were praised by Anti-Defamation League COE Jonathan Greenblatt, who called the measures “great” and “important.”

University campuses have become hotbeds of antisemitism in the weeks following the October 7 massacre, with many students and even professors blaming Israel for the massacre of its citizens and even supporting the massacre outright.

On Sunday, Jewish students at Cornell University were told to avoid the kosher dining hall at the university after threats were directed at the school’s Jewish students.

The threats were made in the form of messages that were posted on the university’s discussion forum, many of which called for physical violence against the Jewish students.

“if you see a Jewish ‘person’ on campus, follow them home and slit their throats. rats need to be elimination from Cornell,” read one message posted to the forum.

Another post referred to Israel as “the genocidal fascist Zionist regime” and claimed that “no Jew civilian is innocent of genocide.”

Last Wednesday, Jewish students at Cooper Union College in New York City were forced to lock themselves inside the library as a mob of anti-Israeli protesters blocked the doors.

About 40 minutes later, security escorted the students out of the building via a tunnel.

At Columbia University, an Israeli student was physically attacked by another student with a stick.

The environment of fear and hostility at American universities compelled a Jewish school in New Jersey, the Torah Academy of Bergen County (TABC), to bar representatives of any university whose leaders do not present a plan to ensure the safety of Jewish students on their campuses from entering the TABC campus and attempting to recruit prospective students from the high school.
