Police of the Judea and Samaria region arrived this morning to the Picar family home in the Samaria community of Yitzhar, woke up the sleeping family, and presented the father with an administrative order signed by Head of Central Command Roni Numa, ordering his distancing from his home for a period of four months.
In the order, the General demanded that Picar, 32, a contractor who works to employ Jews in the predominantly Arab building sector and a father of 6, appear weekly at a police station in the city of Maale Adumim for a check, and forbade Picar from contacting various people.
Two weeks ago, Picar received notification of the intention to issue an administrative order against him. The announcement said that the order was expected due to the fact that Picar and his family host so-called “hilltop youth” in their home.
After the notification, Picar and his family were visited at their home by rabbis and numerous public figures. Likewise, dozens of rabbis signed a petition against the intention of distancing Picar, and a number of demonstrations were held in his support.
Attorney Menashe Yado from the Honenu legal organization, who is assisting Picar, said, “We are talking about a harsh and unusual blow to the rights of a citizen in Samaria. We intend to submit an urgent request against the order to delay its execution.”
