The organs of Ma’ayan David Domnovitch, the 1-year-old boy who was killed in a car crash in southern Israel on Independence Day yesterday (Wednesday), will be donated to the tissue bank at Sheba Medical Center in Ramat Gan.
Ma'ayan's mother, Ayala Domanovich, requested that her child's organs be donated before she underwent surgery for injuries she suffered in the same accident.
Six people were injured in the collision on Route 60 in the Negev yesterday, including five members of the Domnovitch family. Ma'ayan's seven-year-old brother Uri was listed in serious condition, while their father, Ilya Domnovitch, was listed in critical condition. Three other family members were listed in moderate condition.
As a result of Ayala's request, Ma'ayan's heart valves will be stored to be used for transplants for babies who require heart vales of the same size.
Yesterday, Ayala asked the public to pray for her recovery and the recovery of the other injured family members: Ilya Yinon Shraga Ben Baya Yardena, Ayala Molly Bat Nechama, Uri Amidan Ben Ayala Molly, Netta Avraham Ben Ayala Molly, and Shachar Yisrael Ben Ayala Molly.
