Several hundred police officers were set to remain in Ben Gurion Airport until Sunday night, to ward off possible mayhem by foreign leftists taking part in the "flytilla" anti-Israel protest.

Chief Inspector Mickey Rosenfeld, the Foreign Press Spokesman for the Israel Police, confirmed that some incoming flights had been directed away from Terminals 1 and 3 upon landing in order to prevent disturbances at the terminals.

Rosenfeld said police were maintaining a heightened presence outside as well as inside the airport.
