Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi presented Prime Minister Netanyahu with a security assessment regarding the IDF's competence following the events of the last few days.

The three met this week for a conversation against the background of warming tensions on the northern border and reserve officers threatening to cut short their service due to the government's continued efforts to pass legal reforms.

Yesterday, (Tuesday) Halevi toured the Uzbet HaGalil sector (91) and held a situational assessment with commanders, during which he was shown IDF activities along the border, including troop reinforcements.

In addition, the Chief of Staff discussed the vigilance of units stationed at the border, and the importance of maintaining the daily routine for residents of the North.

It was also announced yesterday that 161 aircrew reserves would cut short their army service in protest against the government's continuing efforts to pass the legal reforms.

Military reporter Yossi Yehoshua revealed this morning that at least two reservists who signed the termination letter nevertheless reported for reserve duty today.

"The letter that was published yesterday came from the public relations office," Yehoshua explained on Galei Israel radio. "The IDF is aware of at least 91 out of the 161 Air Force personnel who signed the release papers," he said.

"This morning I spoke with one of them - he is on his way to reserve duty along with another friend who also signed the letter announcing the immediate cessation of duty," he revealed.
