Israel Police on Tuesday located an Arab suspected of vehicle theft hiding in a playground slide.

The Palestinian Authority Arab was suspected of stealing a vehicle from Rishon Lezion, and was located after a police chase in a park in the city of Modi'in.

An investigation was opened Tuesday afternoon following a report regarding a vehicle stolen from within the city.

Police carried out operational activities, during which they identified the vehicle suspected to have been stolen as it drove on Route 431 eastwards. As the vehicle drove, it endangered the others on the road, and hit two civilian vehicles at the entrance to Modi'in.

The suspect lives in Judea and Samaria, and had crossed into pre-1967 Israel without a permit. He also lacks a driver's license. He was caught after the police pursued him on foot as he entered a public park in Modi'in and hid in one of the slides. Following his interrogation, the suspect was jailed.

On Wednesday, police are expected to bring the suspect before the Rishon Lezion court for an extension of his arrest.
