A Jerusalem resident and a member of the Lev Tahor cult was arrested Tuesday and interrogated on suspicion of marrying off his minor children, Kikar Hashabbat reported.
On Wednesday, he was brought to the Jerusalem Magistrates Court, where it was decided to release him under limiting conditions, in accordance with the agreement he had reached with the police.
According to the agreement between the sides, the accused may not leave Israel for a period of 30 days, and must turn in his passports, both Israeli an foreign. In addition, he must provide the exact address at which he will be staying during his time in Israel.
The accused will also deposit 1,000 NIS within the next few days, and provide a telephone number via which he will be able to reached quickly, if possible. If he does not provide a phone number, he will be required to call the investigative unit to report his location once a week.
The suspect expressed his agreement and requested to reduce the period of time during which his passports are not in his hands. This request was rejected by the court.
