The chairman of the Israel-Austria Friendship Association, MK Amir Peretz (Zionist Union), told the director of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee that there was no reason to prevent the Austrian ambassador from participating in the discussion tomorrow, and made it clear that he had invited him to participate personally, Channel 10 reported. As a result, the Austrian ambassador will attend a Knesset committee discussion.

The Foreign Ministry had previously ordered that the Austrian ambassador to Israel be banned from participating in a special session to be held Monday at the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee as part of the Israeli boycott of the Austrian Freedom Party.

MK Yehuda Glick (Likud) criticized the Foreign Ministry's decision and said that it could damage Israel's relations with Austria and efforts to combat the anti-Israel BDS movement.

Under the guidance of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Israel imposed a boycott of the far-right Freedom Party party due to its racist and anti-Semitic background. Netanyahu, who is also Israel's foreign minister, ordered the Foreign ministry not to have ties with the party ministers in the Austrian Government.
