The Defense Ministry recently made the decision to beef up security around Deputy Defense Minister, Rabbi Eli Ben-Dahan, Army Radio reported on Thursday morning.
Following evaluations within the Defense Ministry on the current security situation in Israeli, additional guards were tasked early last week with protecting the Jewish Home deputy minister.
The Defense Ministry confirmed that Deputy Minister Ben-Dahan has received additional security, explaining that the decision was made based on professional considerations following an evaluation of the situation within the ministry.
The Ministry did not, however, specify the exact reasons for the added security. Ben-Dahan's office also refused to comment.
Associated of the Deputy Defense Minister noted that they had been informed of a specific threat against Ben-Dahan's life, but that they were not told about the specific nature of the threat.
