Shavei Israel, a Jerusalem-based group which assists “lost Jews” seeking to return to the Jewish people, has produced a video clip in honor of the holiday of Hanukkah.
The video shows Jews from Spain, Portugal, Russia, Poland, China and India as they celebrate Hanukkah together.
Founded by Michael Freund, Shavei Israel has been instrumental in helping many Jews around the world to return to their roots. The organization has also assisted some groups – such as the Bnei Menashe who claim descent from one of the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel, which were exiled by the Assyrian Empire more than 27 centuries ago – to come live in Israel.
