During the course of a drug investigation in Haifa, police were horrified to discover an infant aged around sixteen months being kept in an iron cage. Inside the cage were pillows and baby bottles.

The mother, a woman of 35, was arrested and has already had her detention extended in court.

Meanwhile, two Haifa residents in their twenties have been arrested after being found in possession of substances suspected of being illicit drugs (crystal meth and hashish) in quantities larger than would be expected if the drugs were only for personal use.
