The security establishment is examining a video which was distributed on social media today (Wednesday), in which terrorists are seen attempting to fire a home-made rocket at the Jewish town of Shaked in northern Samaria.

A note attached to the rocket states in Arabic that the attempted launch failed and that the next rocket would be bigger.

The military security coordinator for Shaked told residents that "the IDF controls the territories of the villages around us and prevents the possibility of a situation similar to the one surrounding Gaza."

Two weeks ago, Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar revealed that the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization had attempted to manufacture rockets in Jenin which would have been used to attack Jews within Israel.

"In recent weeks we thwarted a cell in the area of the Jenin refugee camp that had already begun producing rockets and launchers in order to fire rockets from Samaria to Israel as well. We see this as a dangerous precedent. The members of the infrastructure were arrested and confessed. We have no intention of making Afula or Shaked a target for high-trajectory rocket fire," Bar said.
