Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett spoke Thursday at a virtual ceremony marking International Holocaust Remembrance Day, urging listeners to embrace the lessons of the Holocaust.

"Being able to raise your children without the constant fear of being murdered should not be a privilege - but it is," Bennett said. "Those who try to attack Jews must know - the Jew is no longer a punching bag. We swing back, and we swing back hard."

He added, "We may not be able to understand what it was like to live through the Holocaust," but, "we can embrace the lessons the Holocaust has taught us."

"Don't take freedom for granted. Cherish it. Don't take injustice for granted. Challenge it. Don't be a bystander to cruelty. Fight it."
