The Shomron Regional Council on Thursday launched a new aggressive campaign against Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's intention to leave Israeli communities inside Palestinian enclaves as part of the application of sovereignty over Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley.

The purpose of the campaign is to pressure Netanyahu and warn him against leaving isolated communities in the heart of a Palestinian state, with a focus on Elon Moreh, which is one of the prominent symbols of the settlement enterprise in Judea and Samaria.

"Leaving isolated communities is like the disgraceful Ariel Sharon Disengagement plan that cut off parts of Samaria from Israel," said Shomron Regional Council chairman Yossi Dagan. "It is inconceivable that a right-wing government will abandon Elon Moreh and other similar communities, surrounded by a terrorist state, under the decree of a construction freeze and inability to develop.”

"I call on the Prime Minister: Apply sovereignty. Don't leave Elon Moreh, Yitzhar and Itamar alone in a terrorist state," Dagan added.

It is believed that the sovereignty map will leave at least 19 Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria isolated and surrounded by Palestinian territory on which a Palestinian state may emerge in the future.
