The Israel Police will request to extend the remand of suspected serial killer Fyodor Beizhneri Monday, at the Haifa Magistrates' Court.
Sources close to the case did not specify how many days Beizhneri's remand was due to be suspended, other than by "several days," Walla! News reports.
They did say, however, that Beizhneri has been definitively linked to two murders - one in Haifa, and one in Ashdod - but investigators need more time to determine his links to two other murders, one also in Haifa and one in Tel Aviv.
The source noted that while the manner of all four murders are the same, and police are convinced they were all committed by the same perpetrator, they do not have enough witness reports for the latter two to convict Beizhneri.
Meanwhile, dozens of people have come forward with valuable information on Beizhneri since his name was cleared for publication, he said.
Beiznheri continues to deny involvement in the four murders and sexual assaults. The 26 year-old Moldovan immigrant was arrested nearly 50 days ago, after being linked to what was initially thought to be an electrical fire.
