Despite a massive protest organized against him, Education Minister Naftali Bennett (Jewish Home) arrived at the Abu Senin elementary school in Tamra on Tuesday morning, to attend the school's preparations as part of the Home Front Command's emergency war drill.

The people's committee of the Arab town circulated leaflets in Arabic protesting Bennett's visit on Monday, claiming he is "racist."

"We will not accept a visit by a racist person," the leaflets say. "Naftali Bennett, the constant inciter against our people who calls to murder Palestinians and to attack Gaza and the West Bank [sic] [PA- ed.] - is an unwelcome guest."

It also said that "the Zionist leadership, who danced on the blood of our people and proud of it, is not welcome to visit us."

Bennett's visit was conducted under heavy security; despite the threats, no protest erupted, according to Channel 10

"Israel is the only country in the world where a 5 year-old boy has already experienced two wars and where every child must learn how to get to a shelter," Bennett said during his visit, adding: "This exercise may become a reality in the near future and we must be prepared for this possibility."

Tuesday's drill featured sirens sounding nationwide at 11:05 am; they will sound again at 7:05 pm Tuesday night.
