A 60-year-old woman drowned on Wednesday morning at a beach in the coastal city of Bat Yam.

She was pulled from the water, but rescue workers attempted unsuccessfully to resuscitate her.

Magen David Adom paramedic Hadar Sa'ar explained, "When we arrived on the scene, we saw a woman of about sixty years old lying on the beach after having been pulled out of the water by civilians who were in the area."

"She was unconscious, had no pulse, and was not breathing. We administered first aid, including advanced and prolonged CPR, but were forced to declare her death at the scene."

In July, two men drowned on Netanyahu's beach. Last week a Korean tourist drowned in the Kinneret (Sea of Galilee), and in June, a 25-year-old man went swimming in the Kinneret with his friend and then disappeared. Authorities later found his body.
