The old joke about restaurant-goers opening their fortune cookies to find a plea for rescue came true for customers at a Texas bank, when a man became trapped inside an ATM machine.

A man performing routine maintenance at a Bank of America branch in Corpus Christie, Texas, became trapped inside the bank's ATM room. The worker had left his phone inside his truck and could not call for help. He began writing pleas for help on the receipt slips customers received after withdrawing their money.

A number of customers thought the notes asking to call the bank manager were a practical joke, but one good samaritan called police, who came and rescued the worker, who had been trapped for two hours/

“Everyone is okay, but you will never see this in your life, that somebody was stuck in the ATM, it was just crazy,” Officer Richard Olden of Corpus Christi Police told KRISTV.
