At least one person was killed in a shooting at a beauty school in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on Monday evening.
Officers received a report of an active shooter at the Ravenscroft Beauty College around 6:45 p.m. local time on Monday, according to Fox 59.
Once officers were able to get inside the building they found a man dead, reported local WANE TV. It is believed that the body is that of a shooter.
One woman was wounded in the shooting and taken to a hospital in serious condition.
As many as 50 law enforcement vehicles arrived at the scene, including city, county, and members of the FBI task force. Eyewitnesses said that people ran from the building screaming and crying.
Authorities are investigating the incident. The motive is not yet known and it is unclear whether the shooting was terror-related.
The Indiana incident came hours after a shooting in an office building in Orlando, Florida, killed at least five people.
Police said that the shooter was a former employee of the business who had been fired, and who had committed an act of workplace violence at the business several years ago. The shooter shot and killed himself after carrying out the shooting spree.
The police stated that the incident was believed to be an act of workplace violence and that there was no evidence that the shooting was related to terrorism or terrorist organizations.
