Former MK Eliezer "Cheetah" Cohen (Yisrael Beytenu) is calling on his friend, President Reuven Rivlin, to explain his participation in the Haaretz conference which also featured Breaking the Silence.
"If these folks were in the hall with the President of the State of Israel, it is a disgrace for the State of Israel," Cohen told Arutz Sheva. "Ruvi Rivlin is my good friend, a wonderful Knesset speaker and a wonderful President, but this is indicative.
"When abroad, I have also sometimes appeared in full halls and you never know who will be there. So I expect that the President will say what happened, whether he truly did not know who would be in the hall. If he remains silent it would not be right, because he would being violating neutrality. We are talking about a group that damages the Jewish People and, because of whom, senior commanders are afraid to travel abroad for fear that they will be arrested."
Cheetah called on people from the left to not preach about democracy and free speech. "Bougie Herzog really went off the rails, telling the Prime Minister that he harms democracy? Of course Netanyahu didn't slander the President. People on the left are those who harm democracy. We have seen how Arik [Ariel] Sharon removed government officials from their positions in order to pass the disengagement plan. This was a great harm to democracy."
