On Tuesday a ceremony was held at "T-junction" between Efrat and Tekoa in Gush Etzion, Judea, in which the junction was renamed "Tsomet Amos" (Amos Junction).
The name was chosen after the Jewish prophet Amos who lived in the area during the First Temple period.
Davidi Perl, mayor of Gush Etzion, spoke at the event organized by the Gush Etzion local council, Matnas (Community Center) Gush Etzion, and other local groups, according to a statement by Women in Green.
The dedication ceremony is part of a campaign to increase Jewish presence at the junction following an attack at the site on November 8, in which Arab terrorists threw a molotov cocktail at a Jewish car. The Israeli couple in the car received light to moderate burns.
Since the attack, residents have held a daily vigil at the site. However, the vigil has itself become a target of Arab terror.
On November 15 Arabs attacked a lean-to that was established at the site. The following Sunday Arabs threw a burning object at activists while they were rebuilding the lean-to.
