The rampant terror attacks in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria are not an organized campaign, or “intifada,” according to a senior IDF officer. “The IDF's main effort at the moment is to stop the sequence of events that are not related to each other, and it is possible that the only thing they have in common is the timing – the month of Ramadan.”

Regarding Monday's shooting attack that killed Malachi Moshe Rosenfeld, the senior officer said that the shooter waited in ambush at the point that connects Migdalim and the Alon Route, and opened fire on the vehicle that carried Rosenfled and the other victims.

"The IDF and the Shin Bet are currently conducting an 'intelligence chase' with the aim of catching the terrorists, and at the same time we are beefing up the Binyamin region with additional forces. However, at this point, the military does not intend to curtail the gestures to the Palestinians regarding entry to the Temple Mount during this month.”

The officer added that this is not the first time in which Ramadan is marked by a series of terror attacks.
