An Orthodox Brooklyn man was viciously assaulted in Crown Heights on Wednesday morning, receiving a punch to his head that left him traumatized, according to CrownHeights.info.

The brutal attack was responded to at around 8:50 a.m. by Crown Heights Shomrim who attended the scene of the incident in the Remsen Village area.

Upon arrival, they found the man suffering the aftereffects of the punch. The assailant had fled, according to reports.

The victim described that the assailant had accosted him without provocation and had suddenly assaulted him with a punch to the face. After being punched, he quickly called 911 and Crown Heights Shomrim.

He was also able, due to quick thinking, to snap a photo of the man who attacked him.

The NYPD and the Shomrim are currently using the photo to attempt to identify the perpetrator.
