An IDF soldier was moderately wounded on Wednesday evening after being shot during a routine training exercise.
The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said that the soldier was evacuated to hospital for medical treatment.
The soldier’s family has been notified. The incident is being investigated.
Last week, IDF soldier Baruch Kabarta was fatally wounded by a stray bullet accidentally fired at an IDF base in central Israel.
"An IDF soldier was killed overnight as a result of an injury sustained from a gun at an IDF base in central Israel," the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said.
"After extensive resuscitation efforts, the soldier was declared deceased."
The IDF said the circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated. Military police have opened an investigation into the incident, and will turn over the results of their probe to Military Advocate General’s Corps.
