Gadi Eisenkot, Naftali Bennett, Avigdor Liberman and Yair Golan issued a joint statement calling for an immediate and thorough investigation following the allegations published by Haaretz this morning that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was contacted by United Arab Emirates President Mohammed bin Zayed just a week and a half before the October 7th Massacre, and that bin Zayed warned him that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was planning large-scale military action.
According to them, the report “once again underscores why Netanyahu is fighting the battle of his life - to prevent the establishment of a state commission of inquiry and the truth from being revealed to the Israeli public."
The four claimed that serious warnings had reached Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu directly and that he had ignored them. They called for an investigation into “what Netanyahu knew, when he knew it, why he did not inform the security establishment, and why he did not act to protect the citizens of Israel."
At the conclusion of their statement, they argued that Netanyahu and his partners in the government “are unfit to continue serving in office," and declared: “We will work with the necessary coordination and responsibility to prevent them from leading us into another disaster."
The Prime Minister's Office called the report "Total lies! Prime Minister Netanyahu did not speak to the Emirati President during the period in question and did not receive any warning from him."
