Yair Golan, chairman of the Democrats party, blamed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the demolition of a memorial to terrorists in Madama, an Arab village near Shechem (Nablus).
In an Arabic-language message directed at Israel's Arab public ahead of the Knesset elections, Golan slammed MK Tzvi Succot, who destroyed the monument, inciting anger against the right-wing bloc.
"You should know that Tzvi Succot is not acting in a vacuum. This is Netanyahu's spirit: to ignore warnings from the security establishment, provide backing for extremists and Jewish terrorism, create escalation, and endanger IDF soldiers in order to preserve his rule."
Golan added: "Netanyahu has no government without Tzvi Succot, and therefore, time after time after time, Israel's security and IDF soldiers are pushed aside in order to preserve the coalition."
Golan also criticized what he called the "'Hamas is an asset' government," claiming that it "allows extremists to dictate its security policy and is prepared to risk another escalation, another front, and more soldiers being sent to put out fires that it itself started."
In addition, he alleged that Succot is "a dangerous criminal who harms Israel's security," promising that the Democrats would restore security to the State of Israel following the elections.
Democrats MK Gilad Kariv also issued in an Arabic-language message, claiming that "the survival of the Netanyahu government depends on Tzvi Succot, even if the price is exposing IDF soldiers to danger."
He stressed: "Our sons and grandsons do not enlist in order to serve as a shield for his adventures."
