The search for Kasriel Nachman Keinan, 24, from Beit Shemesh, who had been missing for more than a week, has ended tragically.

His body was found Thursday in the area of the Switzerland Forest in Tiberias. Following identification procedures, it was confirmed to be Keinan, for whom searches had been underway since his disappearance.

Keinan was last seen on August 10 at approximately 6:00 p.m. near Gai Beach on the shore of the Sea of Galilee, while on his way to Safed. Contact with him was subsequently lost, and his whereabouts remained unknown.

During the searches, police published his description and appealed to the public for assistance in locating him. According to the notice issued at the time, Keinan was wearing a white shirt and black suit and a hat when he disappeared, and was carrying a black backpack and a dark brown tefillin bag.

At 1:40 p.m. Thursday, ZAKA's emergency hotline received a report of a body found in the Switzerland Forest area of Tiberias. Volunteers from ZAKA's Northern District were dispatched to the scene, and following identification procedures, it was confirmed that the body was that of Keinan.

His body was found in difficult terrain near a cliff. ZAKA Northern District volunteers are working at the scene together with rescue forces to recover the body and ensure the proper treatment of the deceased.

Shai Levy, a ZAKA Northern District team leader who is at the scene, described the conditions.

"This is a very complex scene in difficult terrain near a cliff," he said, adding that the terrain requires joint operations with rescue forces.

"After confirmation was received that this was the missing person for whom searches had been conducted, we began working together with the rescue forces to recover the body from the area and ensure the proper treatment of the deceased," Levy added.
