Ondas announced that it has won a strategic Israel Ministry of Defense tender worth an estimated several million shekels to develop and manufacture the next generation of tactical attack drones for the IDF.
According to the company, the project is part of a broader Defense Ministry initiative to expand the IDF's tactical drone capabilities and integrate unmanned and autonomous systems more deeply into the battlefield.
Under the contract, Ondas will lead the development of a new, low-cost tactical attack drone designed to meet evolving operational needs and enable widespread deployment among frontline combat units.
Ondas also said that the new drones will feature a complete operational package, including an advanced aerial platform, autonomous capabilities, mission integration, systems engineering, production readiness, and compatibility with the IDF's command-and-control systems.
Attack drones have become an increasingly important component of modern warfare in recent years due to their ability to provide forces on the front lines with precise, available, and flexible attack capabilities.
Ondas currently operates in four main fields: air defense and counter-UAV systems, aerial intelligence, aerial strike systems, and unmanned ground systems. Its platforms incorporate artificial intelligence-based command-and-control and mission management software designed to coordinate drones, sensors, robotic systems, combat forces, and military command-and-control networks.
The company said the contract award strengthens its position in the defense technology sector and supports its long-term growth strategy, which includes expanding the development, production, and support of advanced autonomous systems for defense organizations in Israel and throughout the world.
