The Israel Dog Unit (IDU) presented its missing persons search and rescue capabilities this week at the annual ISDA conference of the Association of Security Managers in Israel, where hundreds of security professionals gathered to discuss developments in the field of public safety and emergency response.
During the conference, the nonprofit organization highlighted its operational methods for locating missing persons and assisting with town security. The unit also showcased new technological capabilities, with a particular focus on integrating drones into search operations alongside its specially trained search dogs.
The organization also reports having established a dedicated drone training school that has trained hundreds of operational drone pilots from emergency and rescue organizations across Israel, enhancing coordination and effectiveness during search missions.
"The field security managers are our most important partners," said IDU director Yekutiel Ben-Yaakov. "The combination of dogs and drones serves as a force multiplier, giving us a significant advantage in saving lives. We thank the conference organizers for the opportunity to strengthen cooperation between security forces and to learn from the technologies and tools used by other organizations. Our goal is to provide the most professional response possible to all emergency and security bodies."
