A missile launched from Iran on Thursday night carried a cluster warhead. Loud explosions were heard in central Israel.
Magen David Adom (MDA) reported that a fragment from an interceptor fell in Givat Shmuel.
Teams were dispatched to scan several locations where reports of impacts were received, including Tel Aviv, Givat Shmuel, and Bnei Brak. Miraculously, there were no casualties.
Sirens were activated Thursday in hundreds of communities across the country following launches from Lebanon, Iran, and Yemen. In Petah Tikva, heavy damage was caused to buildings and property after an explosion created a large crater at the impact site. The missile from Yemen was intercepted and caused no injuries or damage.
According to IDF assessments, the warhead of the Iranian missile exploded in Petah Tikva. A man and a woman were lightly injured and evacuated to Beilinson Hospital in the city. In Mazkeret Batya, another person was lightly injured by shattered glass caused by the blast wave from the Iranian missile's impact.
