At Shaare Zedek Medical Center, a special Havdalah ceremony was held on Saturday evening in the "Lavi" protected area, where all intensive care departments were transferred to an underground facility.

The transfer was carried out in accordance with the Ministry of Health and Home Front Command guidelines and as part of a structured plan that the teams have been training for recently.

The patient transfer began early in the morning, alongside sirens heard in the area. In addition to ongoing medical care and handling the security situation, the teams chose to pause for a moment to mark the end of Shabbat (the Jewish Sabbath).

Professor Philip Levin, Head of General Intensive Care at Shaare Zedek Medical Center, said, "From the early morning hours, during the sirens, we began moving all patients hospitalized in intensive care to the protected area."

"Even in complex moments, both personally and medically, it was important to us to stop for just a moment and perform Havdalah together with the patients' families and with the dedicated teams who joined the effort and have been working hard for long hours to treat and ensure the safety of the patients."
