IDF troops operating in the southern Gaza Strip on Friday identified two terrorists who crossed the yellow line, posing an immediate threat to them.
Following the identification, the troops eliminated one of the terrorists in order to remove the threat.
"IDF troops in the southern command remain deployed in the area in accordance with the ceasefire agreement and will continue to operate to remove any immediate threat," an IDF statement read.
On Sunday, IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir stressed that the yellow line is the new border in Gaza.
"We will not allow Hamas to reestablish itself," he said then. "We have operational control over extensive parts of the Gaza Strip and we will remain on those defense lines. The yellow line is a new border line - serving as a forward defensive line for our communities and a line of operational activity."
