US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he will announce the membership of Gaza's “Board of Peace” in early 2026, adding it will include world leaders.
"It will be one of the most legendary boards ever," he said, noting it will be made up of "heads of the most important countries in the world - Kings, heads of state, and presidents - they all want to be on the 'Board of Peace.'"
The remarks are a change from a report in Walla! earlier this week, which stated that Trump is expected to announce the establishment of the Board of Peace before Christmas.
A senior State Department official told the Israeli website that the move comes amid "remarkable progress" in implementing the President's 20‑point plan for Gaza, with the White House preparing additional significant announcements in the weeks ahead.
The Board of Peace, along with the other parts of Trump’s plan for Gaza, was endorsed by the UN Security Council in a resolution passed last month.
