IDF, Border Police, and Israel Police forces were called Saturday to a Palestinian Authority (PA) area on the outskirts of Bethlehem in the Etzion Brigade area following a report of violent friction between Israeli civilians and PA Arabs.
In addition, a report was received of stone-throwing between PA Arabs and Israelis at the scene and gunfire in the area toward the Arabs.
Footage from the incident shows both sides approaching each other, with at least two Israeli civilians holding assault rifles. An Arab is then seen throwing a stone toward the group of Israelis, after which gunshots are heard.
The footage also shows another individual from the Arab group threatening one of the Israelis with an object, and pushing between the sides is documented. One of the Israelis points his weapon at one of the Arabs and orders him to move two meters back.
IDF forces who arrived at the scene used riot-control measures. In addition, a closed military zone was declared in the area.
Several Israeli civilians were injured but refused medical treatment, and several Arabs were evacuated for treatment.
