An Israeli tourist, approximately 40 years old, has been reported missing since Wednesday afternoon on the island of Koh Phangan in southern Thailand, after entering the sea at Chaloklum Beach in an attempt to rescue his son.

According to available information, the child was swept away by a strong current but managed to return to the shore safely on his own.

The father was carried out to sea and disappeared shortly after entering the water. Local police forces are operating in the beach area and surrounding waters in an effort to locate him. Authorities are conducting searches using boats and ground teams.

The Israeli Embassy in Bangkok was immediately notified and is working with Thai authorities and the family to assist in monitoring the situation, coordinating the search efforts, and providing updated information.

Last month, Liam Shrot, a 25-year-old Israeli woman from Haifa, was killed in a motorcycle accident in Thailand. Her partner, who was injured in the incident, was listed in light condition.
