העימות הסוער בדיוןדוברות הכנסת

A heated clash took place this morning (Wednesday) in the Knesset's National Security Committee, which dealt with preparing an amendment to the Penal Law to impose the death penalty on terrorists, ahead of second and third readings.

During the hearing, exchanges developed between National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and MK Limor Son Har-Melech (Otzma Yehudit), and MKs Aida Touma-Sliman (Hadash) and Gilad Kariv (Democrats).

The confrontation escalated into shouting, and at its conclusion the involved MKs were removed from the committee.

Minister Ben-Gvir said to MK Touma-Sliman, "I know you are afraid that this law will be applied to your friends."

After she was removed from the hearing he shouted at her in Arabic 'Bara' (out), and she replied, "You support terror."

MK Limor Son Har-Melech also attacked Touma-Sliman, "Supporter of terror. Go to the funerals of terrorists, to your martyrs."

MK Gilad Kariv accused Ben-Gvir, "During your tenure the highest number of Jews were murdered, the highest number of fatalities in road accidents and the highest number of women were killed. You are a person whose name is linked to records of Israeli and Jewish blood flowing in the streets. Are you responsible for national security? You are a clown."

Minister Ben-Gvir replied to MK Kariv, "Regards to your friend Barghouti."
