The IDF has reported that a combat officer from the School of Combat Engineering was severely injured Saturday during combat in the southern Gaza Strip.
In a separate incident, a soldier in reserves from the 9203 Battalion, 3rd Brigade, was severely injured Friday during combat in southern Lebanon.
The soldiers were evacuated to a hospital to receive medical treatment. Their families have been notified.
On Friday afternoon, the IDF announced that Staff Sergeant Ittai Fogel, aged 22 from Yakir, fell during combat in the southern Gaza Strip.
Fogel served as a tank commander in the 46th Battalion, 401st Brigade. He is survived by his parents and four siblings.
Fogel's cousin, Elkana Navon, was killed in action just a few weeks earlier in Jenin.
