Eight Syrian soldiers were injured on Thursday night in air strikes that targeted a building in the Damascus area and which were attributed to Israel.

Reuters reported that the strikes targeted a building used by Syrian security forces near Najha, south of Damascus.

Syria’s official news agency, SANA, reported that the strikes were carried out from over the Golan Heights, caused material damage and injuring several Syrian soldiers in the Damascus area.

The Saudi Al-Hadath channel reported that the attack targeted a Hezbollah outpost on a road near the airport in the south of the city.

Israel is not commenting on the reports.

Thursday night’s strike is the first one attributed to Israel in Damascus since the strike which eliminated a senior Iranian Revolutionary Guards official in early April.

Iran retaliated for that strike by firing a barrage of more than 300 missiles and drones on April 13. Most of the missiles and drones were shot down by Israel and its allies.
