Yifat, the niece of hostage Shiri Bibas, said Saturday evening in a press release that the family chooses not to believe the Hamas announcements that their loved ones have been killed by IDF bombardments.
“We will not let anyone break us. We have full faith and continue to fight to bring home Yarden, Shiri, Kfir, and Ariel,” she said.
"We also deserve to embrace our family, and that is going to happen. My Gai is nine months old today. He was born two months after Kfir. They deserve to grow up together, and we ask that you not forget us or them. We can feel the love and embrace of the nation. Carry on. We believe good things will happen. They will return home, all of them."
IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari commented: "Hamas has presented cruel footage of Yarden Bibas. Our hearts are with him and the entire family. We will continue to work to recover the captives. This is psychological terrorism by Hamas, against the entire world, with the aim of causing pressure and pain."
"The claims regarding the Bibas family have not yet been confirmed. This once again emphasizes something that the world must demand - the return of women and children and a medical examination of the hostages by the Red Cross or another international body. That was the agreement. Our hearts are with the families of the hostages and those whose loved ones have not yet been found, and we are obligated on a deep level to bring all of them back."
