A group of children with cancer, in connection with the nonprofit Rachashei Lev (lit. Heartbeats), have released a video calling for the release of the children abducted by Hamas.

The video shows the many similarities between children battling cancer and the children in Hamas captivity.

Children with cancer explain that they benefit from someone who is caring for and treating them, but those in captivity do not.

Shimi Gishaid, the director of the organization, commented “In the last few weeks, the level of horrors and threshold of pain and suffering have reached a point that breaks the heart.”

“We experience, along with children with cancer who fight for their lives daily, a painful sense of connection with the abducted children, with the suffering and communal coping they experience, and say with shock- at least we have a way to fight it. They do not.”

“There is no reality crueler than children held in captivity for more than a month now, far from their home, families, and parents. A line of human and moral values has been crossed here. The lives of children are off limits. The time has come to bring them home, now.”
