Combat engineering forces from the IDF Central Command have recently destroyed the houses of nine Hamas terrorists and dug up roads in which dozens of IEDs had been concealed. Additionally, IDF engineering units have also placed two hundred armored guardposts and deployed ten thousand meters of security fence throughout Judea and Samaria.

Combat engineers also worked to uncover buried explosives around Israeli towns considered seriously threatened, reinforced security installations at the entrances to towns such as armored gatehouses and speed bumps, and neutralized dozens of IEDs throughout several recent operations.

The commander of the engineering units, Colonel Adir Reines, commented: "Our engineers at all levels are working to reinforce security infrastructures and prepare operational defenses. This is being accomplished by constructing obstacles, protecting our forces, and extending the system of guardposts and sentry positions on the roads and in towns."

"At the same time, our engineers are taking an offensive role in destroying terrorists' houses, overcoming IEDs, and damaging enemy infrastructure in refugee camps. The engineering forces are working day and night to improve the security of our forces and our residents."
