During the day on Thursday, Hamas sent messages to the phones of the relatives of the hostages the organization is holding, in an attempt to influence them to click on malicious links in order to, allegedly, receive information about their loved ones, Channel 12 News reported.
The message, sent on behalf of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, stated that the Israeli government did not accept the proposal for an exchange deal.
The message claims that the deal in question is "everyone for everyone", and thus the terrorist organization is trying to harness the families to pressure on the government to accept it.
At the end of the message, Hamas suggests that the recipients of the message click on a link, allegedly to receive information about the condition of their loved ones who have been in captivity of Hamas for 27 days.
The defense establishment stressed that the link should not be clicked on, as this is psychological warfare on the part of Hamas.
