Soldiers from the 13th Battalion of the Golani Brigade and the 53rd Battalion Armored Corps encountered a number of terrorist squads in the Gaza Strip tonight (Thursday). The terrorists attacked them with antitank missiles and IEDs.
The soldiers conducted a prolonged battle with the terrorists with coll heads under massive fire. During the fight, terrorists tried to climb on the soldiers' vehicles and were killed.
At the same time, the ground force directed aircraft and artillery fire towards the terrorists. The terrorists were eliminated and the danger to the force was removed.
The commander of the 13th battalion, Lt. Col. Tomer, said: "During the stops, Hamas terrorists jumped out of tunnels, surrounded us from several places, fired RPGs at us, and tried to get to our vehicles to place IEDs on them."
"Thanks to good preparation, we managed to hit them, kill some of them, repel some of them. We fired from the air, artillery, and mortars and attacked them with the armored vehicles. The result was that they were killed and we continue the advance - until victory," he added.
