Media in Egypt reported on Tuesday evening that the Rafah crossing with Gaza will be opened starting on Wednesday for the purpose of transferring wounded Palestinian Arabs from Gaza into Egypt, where they will receive medical treatment.
Egypt recently opened the Rafah crossing for the first time since Hamas launched its brutal massacre on Israeli civilians on the morning of October 7, and 20 trucks carrying medication, medical equipment, and food passed through.
Three days later, eight additional trucks containing humanitarian aid were brought into the southern Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing with Egypt. The trucks included water, food and medical equipment.
Egypt claimed after the surprise attack that it could not open the Rafah crossing due to the Israeli bombings, and Israel agreed to allow the entry of the humanitarian aid on the condition that the aid is not transferred to Hamas.
