Chairman of the Yisrael Beytenu party, Avigdor Lieberman, called for the Jordanian ambassador to Israel to be reprimanded, after officials in the country attacked Israel and even claimed that there was no evidence of a massacre in the south.
"Enough of us acting helpless. On Tuesday, the Queen of Jordan, Rania Al Abdullah, held an interview with CNN and said without shame that there is no evidence for Israel's claims of the Hamas crimes in the communities surrounding Gaza. If that was not enough, the day before that, Ayman al-Safadi, Jordan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, delivered a vile and despicable speech. And the Israeli government’s response – the silence of the lambs," said Lieberman.
He added that: "With all due respect to our cooperation with Jordan, which by the way they benefit from it much more than us, we cannot ignore such statements."
"I assume that Jordan also sees the weakness of the Israeli government and feels that we can be punched. And for those who have forgotten, I will remind you all that it was not always like this. After the massacre on the Peace Island in Naharayim in 1997, Hussein, the then King of Jordan, personally apologized, and paid comfort visits to the families of the murdered girls."
"Now we must summon the Jordan’s ambassador to Israel for a reprimand, and to express our strong protest to the Jordanian government for the kingdom's senior officials support for terrorism," he added.
Queen Rania of Jordan was interviewed by CNN, where she claimed that the media is using double standards and said that the Israeli side gets a bigger stage.
The Queen claimed that "The US president said he had evidence, that he had seen evidence that children had been beheaded, only to retract this later because the IDF said there was no proof of that.”
She also said: "Even at the beginning of the conflict there was a headline on CNN reporting that Israeli children had been found slaughtered in an Israeli kibbutz. When you read it, it was not independently verified. Would you publish something that was not verified that came from the Palestinians?"
The headquarters of the families of the hostages sent the Queen of Jordan a link to a coded website that displays videos of beheadings, burnt bodies and severe physical abuse by Hamas.
