Sgt. 1st Class Itai Moreno, the son of Moshe and Tamar Moreno, a soldier in the Commando Brigade from Adert, fell in battle against terrorists in Kibbutz Zikim near the Gaza border.
A relative of the fallen soldier, Adv. Uriel Hur Nizri wrote on X: "My relative, the nephew of Lt. Col. Emanuel Moreno, Itai Moreno, the son of Moshe and Tamar Moreno, fell in battle. Moshe is now a bereaved brother and father. One's heart breaks."
Lt. Col. Emanuel Moreno, an officer in the elite Sayeret Matkal, was killed on the 19th of August 2006, at the end of the Second Lebanon War. Moreno was the first soldier in Israeli history whose photo was classified even after his death due to the sensitive position he held.
