Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rebuked Defense Minister Yoav Gallant over the weekend due to his attempts to delay the vote to pass the bill reducing the reasonableness standard.

According to a report by Channel 12, Netanyahu called the Defense Minister and told him: "You think your offer will be helpful, but it will cause great harm. Stop apologizing as if you're the Prime Minister. I'm dealing with the issue, stop getting involved."

The report continues that due to the rebuke, Gallant's office published a clarification according to which he is working to bring widespread consensus and to keep the IDF out of the political discourse - without delaying the legislation.

Despite the announcement, a day later, coalition members, including the Defense Minister, were warned that whoever would not vote for the bill would be fired.

Netanyahu's office responded to the report: "We do not comment on closed conversations, even if the description is completely disconnected from reality." Minister Gallant's office stated: "The Defense Minister will not discuss what was said in conversations between him and the Prime Minister."
